Meditations for Peace, AMORC |
I received a note from Don Daniels on behalf of the Rosicrucian Order, proposing that we do an analysis of data corresponding to a Meditation for Peace organized by the Order, also known as AMORC, on June 30 2004, at 5:30 PM, PDT. A further request was made to look at the data for this year's annual Peace Meditation, scheduled for June 19 at 12:30 PDT. While these are perhaps smaller or less global gatherings than most of those we have examined in the past, I decided to do an exploratory analysis. The motivation and intent of these meditations certainly are aligned with the tenor of my personal interests, as well as those of more general and global groups. The two graphs below show the results for the 2004 and 2005 meditations, where the specified period begins 30 minutes prior to the nominal time, and continues for a total of two hours (I did not have a duration from Don Daniels.) They don't show strong deviations, although the 2004 event does have an extended low-going trend beginning at the time of the meditation. This is consistent with many other meditation events.
