Ishikawa Masato sent a note saying, "Dozens of my friends
were excited by Matrix-Revolutions, which was open to the public
on November 5 2003. I heard the first screen of the movie started
at the SAME time worldwide, in more than thirty countries.
The event is suitable for the EGG analysis, isn't it?
The opening time was 11pm, Japanese Standard Time."
This is a good opportunity to test a prediction that such a widely
publicized event might draw sufficient attention to be "noted" in the
GCP data. The time of the opening corresponds to 14:00 GMT, and I
decided the segment should include some time before and after
the movie for buildup and dispersion of the excitement. The formal
prediction was a four hour segment, 13:00 to 17:00 GMT, with the movie
in the center.
The result is essentially flat, with no indication of correlation with
the excitement, and nothing notable at the actual opening time. The
Chisquare is 14452 on 14400 df, and p = 0.378.
