26th Annual SSE Meeting May 31 - June 2, 2007

Announcement & Call for PapersThe 26th Annual Meeting of the Society for Scientific Exploration will be held in East Lansing, Michigan, May 31 - June 2, with an opening reception at 6:00 PM, May 30. The overall theme of the meeting is "Pushing Scientific Boundaries: Interactions, Intersections, Interventions." Local arrangements are coordinated by Mark Urban-Lurain. Roger Nelson chairs the Program Committee. Michigan State University's campus is beautiful in the spring, with lovely walks and gardens. The Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center possesses a unique cultural atmosphere and convenient access to sporting activities and Lansing area attractions including the Michigan State Capitol. The Society encourages the attendance of students and young investigators, and the meetings are open to the public. There is a special, reduced registration fee for students at this meeting. Please encourage students from your area to come. Program, Themes & Invited SpeakersInvited speakers will help define themes to be developed further by our own SSE membership, and the program will include papers assessing progress and social/political issues in areas of longstanding interest to SSE members. Evening PanelsFree-wheeling discussion of program topics will be the focus of evening meetings of members and invited speakers.Contributed PapersContributed papers by full members on any topic of interest to the Society are, as always, welcome. Papers related to the themes of the meeting will grouped with relevant invited talks when possible. A poster session may be provided for selected papers or on request. Titles and abstracts for contributed papers should be sent to the Program Chairman: Roger Nelson, E-mail: rdnelson@princeton.edu. Electronic submission is required. The Title should be short and informative. Please include Author name and Affiliation, and contact information. Abstracts should be 300 to 500 words (one page of single spaced text), and should summarize the main points of the paper. Plain text as the body of the e-mail is preferred. If special formatting is required for intelligibility, please submit a Word document. The cutoff date for submissions is March 31, 2007. Submissions received subsequent to that date may be considered for presentation subject to the availability of time in the program. Conference VenueKellog Hotel & Conference Center A large block of rooms has been reserved for the SSE at a special conference rate: $89/night for either a single or double room. Reservations must be made by May 1, 2007 to receive this rate. Ask for the SSE block when making reservations. A welcoming reception will be held at the hotel on Wednesday, May 30, starting at 6 PM. Conference meetings will be held in the Kellog Center. The SSE's traditional recreational excursion and evening banquet will be combined in a private cruise on the Michigan Princess Riverboat.
